The fabric is amazing, soft, 100%cotton, (khadi) toxic free and they are supporting a sustainable living for women – this is truly a great product.
I bought some beautiful yards of designer fabric to see if local designers and budding makers want to create their own clothes and interior designs.
This means you have to think differently about what it means to create quality products. It is not cheap, or expensive and it will create jobs for women in rural India who can live in their own communities and in their own way / culture. I want to be able to sell the fabric so you can create your own designs that are contempoiary, beautiful and fresh.
My process is transparent and we need your support. I am taking you on a journey as I set up the business, explore all possibilities and opporunities.
These fabrics were created in Madrya Pradesh. Womenweave. The town is Maheshwar – one of the best places to find the most exquisite Saris. A very rural area, smack in the middle of India. Imagine rich cultural heritage, few English speakers and a place where women have little control over their lives. Imagine what you can create, design your own fabric, make your own clothes, curtains, and more.
After 6 months working smack in the middle of India I am back in the States & excited about my new project.
SUPPORTING WOMEN – NON TOXIC – 100% SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE – FABULOUS FABRICS. SEE WHERE YOUR MATERIAL IS MADE AND WHO MAKES THEM
The story: India is caste driven, poverty and toxic manufacturing dominates the making of material and everyday life. I spent 6 months at a University in Madrya Pradesh. Madrya Pradesh is totally awesome culturally – think visually, saris, turbans, draoves of nomadic camel herders, dung houses, cows and more cows, fresh milk and a lot of Puja. But it is also corrupt in all areas of commerce and education.
So I am going to stop wingeing and take action. I decided it was time for me to help women. Importing beautiful metres of fabric for designers and companies that want to make a difference in the world.
In my spare time I spent many weeks visiting some amazing collectives that support the emplyment of women and making of fabric and crafts. Womenweave, Barefoot College and more.
I am an artist and designer, lover of women, culture and life!
I want to connect designers from all over the globe, with existing collectives who produce quality work, want to design and create their own products.
CHECK OUT MY FIRST FABRIC. DESIGNED BY ME – OVER 50 METRES – OR YARDS AVAILABLE NOW.

They draw with chalk of rough cement floors.
Simply I sit, watch and learn.
& document. The chalk drawings have become a coloring in book for the elderly and children in the other building.
The result: a coloring in book that connects 2 buildings that are completly disconnected, but on the same ashram. The floor drawings are photographed I digitally transfer & thicken the lines. Then I print the book! Very Local very non- digital. A lot of smiles!
